The first time I ever had oxtail shrimp pasta was at a small Italian restaurant in the heart of New York City. It was love at first bite. The rich and savory flavors of the sauce paired with plump and juicy shrimp were simply heaven.

Since then, I’ve been trying to recreate that magical dish at home. My first few attempts were total failures, but I refused to give up. After many long hours in the kitchen, I finally perfected the recipe. And let me tell you, it was well worth the effort!

Oxtail Shrimp Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

Oxtail:

  • Oxtails
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic
  • Red wine
  • Ketchup
  • Beef Broth
  • Jerk spice

Shrimp:

  • Large shrimp
  • Jerk spice
  • Olive oil

Pasta:

  • Oxtail cooked
  • Penne pasta
  • Minced garlic
  • Onion
  • Red, Yellow peppers
  • Butter
  • Flour
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Mozzarella
  • Jerk seasoning
  • Salt

How to make Oxtail Shrimp Pasta

Oxtail:

Season your oxtail with the jerk spice salt and pepper on all sides.

Turn an Instant pot to saute and add olive oil.

Add the oxtail and saute on all sides for 2-3 minutes.

Place on a plate to the side.

Add the garlic to the instant pot and saute for 1-2 minutes stirring often Add the red wine, ketchup, and beef broth to the Instant pot.

Stir to combine.

Place the oxtail back into the Instant pot.

Cancel the saute mode on the Instant pot.

Place the lid on the Instant pot and place the venting knob on the lock.

Cook on high pressure for 50 minutes.

Pasta:

During this time prepare the rest of the ingredients:

Prepare the penne pasta as directed on the box.

Drain and set to the side.

In a medium-sized bowl add your shrimp and jerk spice.

Toss to combine.

In a large saute pan over medium heat, add your olive oil.

Now add the shrimp and cook until the shrimp is no longer translucent.

Set to the side.

Now add the onions, and peppers to the large saute pan and cook until tender.

Once the Oxtail is cooked remove the meat from the bone.

Add the oxtail to the pepper mixture, toss to combine over low heat.

Add the shrimp to the oxtail mixture, toss to combine.

In a separate large saute pan add the butter, and heavy cream, and allow this to come to a boil.

Add the flour to the milk and whisk until combined.

Cook the cream mixture for 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic, cheese, and jerk spice.

Mix until combined.

Now add the pepper mixture and penne pasta mix until combined.

Ingredients
  

Oxtail

  • 2 Lb Oxtails
  • 1 tbsp. Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 ⁄3 cup red wine
  • 3 tbsp. Ketchup
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tbsp. Jerk spice

Shrimp:

  • 2 lbs. Large shrimp
  • 1 tbsp. Jerk spice
  • 1 tbsp. Olive oil

Pasta:

  • Oxtail cooked
  • 1 box of Penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp. Minced garlic
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 1 each Red Yellow peppers
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 2 1 ⁄2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup Mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp. jerk seasoning
  • 1 tsp. Salt

Instructions
 

Oxtail:
