Slow cookers are great for making delicious dinners. You can make a lot of food in the slow cooker, and the food will be ready whenever you are. And, it’s a great way to feed a crowd. But, have you ever imagined making a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich from your slow cooker?

This recipe is for Slow Cooker Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches with a chuck roast. The recipe is simple, but it tastes amazing!

A Slow Cooker Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches is a delicious dinner that you can make in the morning and enjoy at night. The meat is cooked in the slow cooker with onions, peppers, and beef broth for about 6 hours. Most of the time these sandwiches are filled with thinly sliced ribeye beef, but we wanted to change the game up with this one.  The flavor from the chuck roast is amazing, savory, and falls apart as soon as you spoon some onto your sandwich. Cooking your meat this way ensures it’s super juicy and the vegetables are soaked in the meat juices too for an unbeatable flavor that will surely tingle your taste buds.

A Philly Cheesesteak is not complete with a mound of peppers and onion topping your beef with melty cheese that balances the robust flavor of the other ingredients.  Beer is one of the secret ingredients to add extra flavoring that cooks down slowly over time with the meat.

This recipe has a few steps, but it’s worth the wait. Plus, you can do other things while your slow cooker does all the work. Just prep your ingredients, add into the slow cooker, wait, and serve on your favorite type of sandwich rolls, top with all the condiments you want, and serve!

What is the best roll to use?

This sandwich is HEAVY. You can’t use any old type of bun unless you want a mess all over your plate and shirt. We give you inexpensive options for your recipes, but in this one we can’t go for anything but the best. Traditionally, the Philly Cheesesteak is served on a hoagie roll. This roll is super dense and thick. Soaks up all the extra juices without becoming soggy, and holds up so you can enjoy your sandwich on the go.
