Salisbury steak is a budget alternative to steak. It’s made of ground beef and shaped into the form of a steak, typically served with a flavorful gravy poured on top and perhaps some mashed potatoes or fries.
This recipe takes the classic ingredients and makes the whole dish in one skillet rather than doing the potatoes separately. Meat and potatoes are always satisfying and this recipe also adds onion, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and thyme to really load it with flavor.
Although the dish does have more liquid than you’d expect when having Salisbury steak, plenty of gravy isn’t something most people will have an issue with. In fact, you might say it makes the dish even better. Serve the Salisbury steak and potato skillet with your favorite kind of vegetable, perhaps something like peas, broccoli or green beans on the side. If you prefer salad, that’s fine.
Just have it on a small plate on the side. This budget-friendly Salisbury steak skillet is so good – why not try it today?
