We have a hearty recipe for you today that combines flavorful and spicy sausage with hearty and crispy potatoes. Transcend yourself to the south of the United States and enjoy the savory and spicy flavor of the cajun cuisine with this Oven Roasted Sausage and Potatoes.

Onions are perfectly softened and aromatic to add extra flavor to your main ingredients. Just grab your ingredients, toss to coat, and cook until bubbly and golden brown perfection.

Cajun seasoning has a bold spicy flavor from the paprika (you can use smoked paprika if you prefer more kick) and cayenne pepper with an undertone of earthiness from the garlic and onion. You don’t have to use cajun seasoning just on seafood to enjoy cajun cuisine. Turkey sausage has a chicken flavor and is less overpowering than using pork.

Can I use a different type of sausage in this Oven Roasted Sausage and Potatoes recipe?

If you prefer an andouille sausage or something that is already seasoned you can find those at your local butcher shop or grocery store. If you can handle the heat then using a smoked or spicy sausage will only compliment the heat from your seasoning packet.

If I don’t have baby potatoes on hand could I use regular potatoes?

This recipe is easy to substitute items with and still receives delicious flavor. Just make sure to cut your large Russett potatoes into bite-sized chunks so they cook evenly and get crispy around the edges while still being soft on the inside.

Here is all you need for your Oven Roasted Sausage and Potatoes!

1 lb of smoked turkey sausage, cut into rounds (you can use a spicy sausage)

1 large onion, peeled and chopped

6 baby red potatoes

6 baby golden potatoes
