One of the things my family struggled with while switching to the keto lifestyle was missing out on takeout food. Now, we all know eating at home is almost always better and healthier than takeout but sometimes those cravings are just hard to resist! I’ve taken on a personal challenge to make the best keto takeout copycat recipes that I can.
Everyone loves Chinese takeout and this dish is like having a Chinese chef in your own kitchen. The Keto Egg Roll dish provides a new twist to traditional egg roll recipes, turning a carb-loaded appetizer into a protein-filled lunch or dinner, without sacrificing the flavor you love.
This Keto Egg Roll Bowl is essentially a deconstructed egg roll. I took all of the ingredients and flavors I love in traditional egg rolls and tossed them into a bowl instead of a roll. Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl is packed with protein (I used pork but you can substitute your favorite protein) and veggies, making it a guilt-free keto dinner.
The bonus of making this keto egg roll bowl is that not only is it healthier, it’s WAY easier too. Half the battle of making traditional egg rolls is in wrapping the cabbage mixture into the actual egg rolls without making a mess or ripping the dough. This deconstructed egg roll recipe is a much simpler but equally as yummy alternative.
If you would prefer to use this Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl as a filling, you can also add a low carb wrap made with flaxseed and coconut flour to give this dish a little extra flare. It makes a great lunch on the go that way!

How To Make Keto Egg Roll In A Bowl:
You are only a few short steps or minutes away from making one of the best protein dishes that they whole family will enjoy!
Step One: Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Once the skillet has come to temperature, add the chopped onion
Step Two: Sauté the onion for 2-3 minutes until it begins to brown and caramelize
Step Three: Add in the minced garlic, and stir constantly, cooking for 30 seconds
Step Four: Add the ground pork in the skillet and cook until it is browned. Mix it often to incorporate the onions and garlic.
Step Five: Once the pork has browned, add the bag of coleslaw mix to the skillet. Stir well to mix the pork in with the vegetables
Step Six: Add ⅓ cup of soy sauce, and ¼ cup of chicken broth to the skillet. Stir all of the ingredients and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring often.
Step Seven: Sprinkle and serve with fresh chopped green onions on top of the keto egg roll mixture.

Can I Make the Keto Egg Rolls with Other Ground Meat Products?
Absolutely you can give this recipe a slightly different flavor pallet by using ground beef, ground turkey, or ground chicken. You can also substitute it for more gamey selections like buffalo, lamb, or bison.

A few popular items that we’ve tried in this keto egg roll are broccoli slaw, carrots, shrimp, ginger, and sesame seeds.
What Are The Best Ways To Reheat This Keto Egg Roll In A Bowl?
Don’t worry about making a double or even triple batch of this keto dish. All you need is 1-2 minutes in the microwave and it will be perfect or you can always toss it back in a skillet over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes and enjoy!
