Can I use ginger powder if I don’t have any paste available?
Unless you normally cook cuisines from around the world or follow a strict healthy diet; you probably don’t have fresh ginger at home. You can certainly use ginger powder to blend with your other spices. Just make sure to add a little more than you would if it was freshly sliced to bring the same flavor profile to your dish.
Ingredients:
1 ½ lbs. Ground beef
¼ C. Soy sauce
1 C. Chopped onion
1 Bag shredded cabbage coleslaw mix
½ C. Shredded carrots
3 tsp. Minced garlic
2 tsp. Ginger paste
2 Tbsp. Sesame oil
Green onions for garnish
Instructions:
Add one tablespoon of sesame oil to a skillet over medium-high heat on the stove.
Add the ground beef and onion to the skillet and saute until the meat is completely browned and the onion has softened.
When the meat is halfway browned, mix the shredded carrots into the skillet.
Toss the cabbage into the skillet, and cook until it begins to soften.
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger paste and another tablespoon of sesame oil. Mix to combine.

Pour the sauce mixture over the ingredients in the skillet, and stir to combine.

Continue to cook for another 3-5 minutes before serving topped with freshly chopped green onions.
