These cinnamon peach dumplings are sweet and totally delicious. They’re made using refrigerated crescent rolls and canned peaches, along with sugar, cinnamon, and butter. And then there is a mystery ingredient as well, and that’s Sprite! You might not think soda is an ingredient associated with dumplings, but it works very well in this recipe.
Peaches are always popular during the summer months and, although this recipe calls for canned, you can also use fresh if they’re in season or if that’s your preference. After all, the peaches are the star of the dish.
The citrusy taste of the Sprite complements the sweet peach flavor. You can use any other citrus-based soda though, such as 7-Up, Mountain Dew or Fresca, since they all do a very similar job.
Perhaps you’re concerned about the amount of butter in the recipe, but don’t be tempted to skimp on it because it turns into an incredible caramel sauce as the dumplings cook.
