Granny Smiths are especially good in this dish because their tart taste contrasts so well with the marshmallow and pudding sweetness, and often the best desserts are those with a contrast in flavor, texture or both.

That’s why coarse salt makes such a great garnish for caramel or chocolate, and why crisp meringue is so beautiful with berries. Back to this dessert though, and the ingredients you will need as well as the apples are butterscotch pudding mix, pineapple tidbits, marshmallows, roasted peanuts, and whipped topping.

All you have to do is combine these ingredients together and then pop it in the fridge until ready to serve. This is such a simple, yet truly scrumptious, dessert to prepare.

Why You’ll Love the Recipe:

This is one of those quick and easy desserts you can throw together in just ten minutes, making it a great choice if you have unexpected company or if you want something sweet but you aren’t in the mood to cook.

How to Serve It:

This apple fluff salad is best served chilled. You can have it as soon as the ingredients are combined or make it ahead.

Can You Make It Ahead?

Yes, you can make this up to 2 days ahead, but it’s best served fresh before the apples have a change to turn brown.

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces canned pineapple tidbits in juice
  • 1 (3½-ounce) box instant butterscotch pudding mix
  • ½ cup mini marshmallows
  • 2 cups peeled, cored, chopped Granny Smith apples
  • 1½ cups thawed whipped topping
  • ½ cup chopped roasted peanuts

How to make Caramel Apple Fluff Salad Dessert:

Stir the pineapple tidbits (including the juice) with the pudding mix until no lumps remain.

Next, stir in the apples, marshmallow and nuts.

Fold in the whipped topping, then cover and chill until ready to serve.
