Can I use a different type of candy melt in place of dark chocolate?
Yes! We like dark chocolate wafers, but they come in so many colors. You can pick anything that fits your theme. Choose from pink, blue, yellow, white, or anything else you like.
What is the best way to melt the chocolate for the recipe?
The easiest way is to use the microwave and heat it for 30 seconds – 1 minute at a time. Then stir and heat some more. The biggest thing to consider is overheating the chocolate, or it will seize. Once it’s about 70% melted, just stir it constantly until it finishes melting.

While you probably could swap it, I don’t recommend switching it out for anything else.

Keep the cool whip candy refrigerated or frozen when you aren’t serving. It needs to be kept cold, or it will spoil quickly.
