Follow the directions on how to cook the spaghetti printed on the back of the package. Reserve ¾ cup of pasta water.
Put a large skillet on the stove with the burner set on medium.
Increase the temp to high, stirring in canola oil and two tablespoons of butter. Stir in the mushrooms with salt and pepper.
Saute the mushrooms for 5 minutes. While stirring add the last tablespoon of butter. Keep stirring until it melts.
Saute the garlic and red pepper flakes for one minute. Stir in the pasta water, pasta, and cheese. Toss well. Simmer for 2 minutes. (The sauce will be thick.)
Stir in the parsley. Put in single-serving bowls.
