Add 1 Tbsp of oil and 2 Tbsp of butter to a skillet over medium heat on the stove.
Mix in the mushrooms and onions., and saute until softened.
Stir in the garlic, and saute another 30 seconds.
Add in the fresh thyme, and salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from the skillet, and set aside.
To the same skillet, add 2 Tbsp of butter.
Season the steaks on both sides with salt and pepper to taste.
Sear the steaks in the melted butter over medium-high heat until done to your liking. Remove, and let rest.
To the skillet, add the red wine, and simmer over medium heat until the liquid is reduced by half.
Pour in the cream as well as salt and pepper to taste. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
Return the vegetables and steaks to the skillet and serve.
