Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Unroll the crescent rolls, and place a small amount of apple pie filling at the widest edge of each triangle of dough.
Carefully roll the dough up over the filling, and place the dumplings into a well greased 9x13 baking dish.
Stir together the butter and brown sugar.
Add a small spoonful of the butter and brown sugar mixture to the top of each dumpling.
Pour the can of soda carefully around the bottom of the dumplings.
Bake 35-45 minutes, and let cool slightly before serving.
