Slow Cooker Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork

This tasty pulled pork recipe is sweet, juicy and wonderful served on buns. Adding soda, in this case Dr Pepper, helps to keep the dish moist and flavorful. Since it’s a crockpot recipe, you just need to add the ingredients and let it cook. It’s such an easy dish and something the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 lbs. Pork roast
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 Onion sliced
  • ½ tsp. Onion powder
  • 1 Can Dr. Pepper soda
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¾ C. BBQ sauce
  • Buns for serving
  • 2 tsp. Paprika

Instructions
 

  • Mix together the onion powder, garlic powder, paprika and salt and pepper to taste in a small bowl.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture over the outside of the pork roast.
  • Stir together the bbq sauce and the Dr. Pepper in a bowl.
  • Layer the onions in the bottom of the slow cooker, and add the roast on top.
  • Pour the Dr. Pepper mixture over the pork.
  • Cook for 4-5 hours on high.
  • Remove the meat, shred it with the tines of two forks.
  • Return the meat to the slow cooker, and serve on buns.
