Steak and Shrimp Scampi

This recipe shows you how to make a restaurant quality meal which is every bit as good as what your nearest steakhouse would offer. Keep the mood intimate by preparing this at home instead and add some candles to the table first to set the mood. It’s an easy recipe to make and sure to come out delicious.

Ingredients
  

For the steaks:

  • 4 Strip steaks
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the shrimp:

  • ¼ C. White cooking wine
  • 3 Tbsp. Butter
  • ¾ C. Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 lb. Shrimp peeled and deveined
  • ¼ C. Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tsp. Minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Season the steaks well with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Heat the oil in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat.
  • Sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side, until done to your liking. Set the steaks aside to rest.
  • Add 2 Tbsp of butter to the skillet.
  • Season the shrimp with salt and pepper to taste, and add to the skillet.
  • Sear the shrimp until cooked through. Remove, and set aside.
  • Place the last tablespoon of butter into the skillet, and reduce the heat to medium low.
  • Stir in the garlic, and saute for 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the white cooking wine, and simmer until the liquid is reduced by half.
  • Mix in the heavy whipping cream and parmesan cheese as well as salt and pepper to taste.
  • Simmer until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the shrimp to the skillet, and toss to coat in the sauce.
  • Serve the shrimp with the steak, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
