Buttermilk Biscuits and Sausage Gravy
If you’ve never made sausage gravy from scratch because you thought it would be tricky, it’s time to try this recipe out for size! It’s so easy to make your own rich, creamy gravy. And then the readymade buttermilk biscuits make light work of finishing off the dish to perfection.

- 3 C. Milk
- 1 lb. Ground breakfast sausage
- ½ tsp. Garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp. Butter
- 1 tsp. Salt
- ⅓ C. Flour
- ½ tsp. Black pepper
- 1 Tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
Prepare the biscuits according to the instructions on the package.
Add the ground sausage to a skillet over medium high heat on the stove.
Saute the sausage until browned completely, but do not drain the grease.
Stir in the butter and flour.
Saute for 1 minute.
Whisk in the milk.
Stir in the garlic powder, salt and pepper, and simmer until the gravy has thickened.
Serve over the buttermilk biscuits.
