Can I substitute the meat if my family does not eat ground beef?
Sure you can! Ground chicken or turkey works great as a substitute and a tiny bit healthier for you, but that nacho cheese takes away any health benefits. Sometimes we just need to treat ourselves, right?
Do you have any other recommendations of ingredients to add?
Since this recipe is a random combination of ingredients already; you can pretty much add whatever you want. Some ideas would be peas, and carrots to form a sort of shepherd’s pie. You could also include salsa to gear towards a Mexican-Style dinner a little more. Including fresh spinach won’t hurt this meal either and adds some extra healthy ingredients without overpowering the already tasty flavors.
