Welcome back to Cheeky Kitchen Blog my friends!

If you have kids, then you are used to those little munchkins being hungry 24/7. On top of that, you are used to how PICKY those little humans are. Nothing fancy for them unless you have trained their pallets from a young age. We know it is super hard to get our little taste testers to try our savory recipes. In this recipe, everyone was lining up to taste test without leaving a crumb behind.

We gathered the flavors of summer into one simple and tasty meal. Flavors you expect to enjoy from the county fair, amusement park, or food trucks. Alright, alright we will get to it already :-). Introducing to you the Chili Cheese Dog Bake Dinner.

Kids like it plain and simple and we kept it that way with this recipe. Is it healthy, no; but will it keep your kids content, absolutely!

Chili Cheese Dog Bake Dinner uses frozen pie crust to roll up your bun-length hot dogs with chili, cheese, and just a splash of seasoning to add a little flavor but takes little to no effort.

What type of hot dogs did you use?

This is truly up to your pallet. In this paragraph, we will give you the top five hot dog brands people prefer but again, use whatever one’s your children prefer. Firstly, make sure the hot dog is bun-length. You want to make sure they are longer than traditional hot dogs so the serving size is the same as we recommend in the instructions.  Secondly, hot dogs CAN be expensive if you really want high-quality ones. So this list includes the inexpensive and splurging options we have found.  Applegate natural uncured hot dogs are listed as number one.

What does uncure mean?

That means that no salt or sodium is added to them when being processed so they are healthier, but still not healthy. These next few you will probably easily recognize; Ball Park Franks, Hebrew National, Nathan’s Beef Frank, Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs, and then Kunzler Frank’s. The higher-quality hot dogs do have more of a snap to their casing than the more well-known brands so you can give one of those a go or stick with what you know.
