Warm the oil in a pan then add the shrimp and cook for 4 or 5 minutes, or until cooked through.
Transfer them into a dish and keep warm.
Put the water in the pan along with the broccoli, then cover and cook until tender.
Add the broccoli to the dish with the shrimp and keep warm.
Add the butter to the pan and melt it.
Add the garlic and cook for a minute.
Meanwhile, put the pasta on to cook.
Whisk the flour into the butter mixture, then add the cream gradually, whisking all the time.
Now mix in the cheese and season to taste with salt and black pepper.
Now put the shrimp and broccoli back in the pan and stir to warm it back up again.
Drain the pasta once cooked, and add to the shrimp mixture.
Toss to combine and serve, topped with parmesan and offering extra cheese on the side.
