Broccoli and Shrimp Alfredo

This delicious shrimp and broccoli alfredo dish is so simple to make and it has such a fresh and tempting taste. It’s one of the best things you can make if you want shrimp and pasta for dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound peeled medium or large shrimp
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cups broccoli in florets
  • 8 ounces uncooked small shell pasta shapes
  • ¼ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • cup freshly grated parmesan cheese plus more to serve
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Warm the oil in a pan then add the shrimp and cook for 4 or 5 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • Transfer them into a dish and keep warm.
  • Put the water in the pan along with the broccoli, then cover and cook until tender.
  • Add the broccoli to the dish with the shrimp and keep warm.
  • Add the butter to the pan and melt it.
  • Add the garlic and cook for a minute.
  • Meanwhile, put the pasta on to cook.
  • Whisk the flour into the butter mixture, then add the cream gradually, whisking all the time.
  • Now mix in the cheese and season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  • Now put the shrimp and broccoli back in the pan and stir to warm it back up again.
  • Drain the pasta once cooked, and add to the shrimp mixture.
  • Toss to combine and serve, topped with parmesan and offering extra cheese on the side.
