Crescents with Cream Cheese Sausage

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz. Cream cheese
  • 2 Tubes of crescent roll dough
  • 1 lb. Ground breakfast sausage
  • ½ tsp. Garlic powder optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oven to 375 degrees, and grease a 9x13 casserole dish.
  • Saute the sausage in a skillet over medium high heat until completely browned. Drain the excess grease.
  • Season the meat with salt and pepper to taste, as well as the garlic powder if using.
  • Mix the cream cheese into the warm meat, and stir until well combined.
  • Unroll the crescent dough, and place one tube of unrolled dough in the bottom of the casserole dish, pinching the seams closed, and pressing the dough to cover the entire bottom of the dish.
  • Spread the sausage mixture over the dough.
  • Top the mixture with the remaining tube of dough, spreading it out to cover the filling, and pinching the seams closed.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  • Slice into 12 squares and serve.
