For the cake:
- ½ tsp. Baking soda
- 3 C. Flour
- 1 C. Buttermilk
- 2 C. Sugar
- 1 C. Butter softened
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 4 Large eggs
- 1 tsp. Baking powder
- 2 tsp. Vanilla
For the sauce:
- 3 Tbsp. Water
- ¾ C. Sugar
- 2 tsp. Vanilla
- ⅓ C. Butter
Heat the oven to 325 degrees.
Blend together the ingredients for the cake in a mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
Spread the mixture into a well greased bundt pan, and bake for 55-65 minutes until completely cooked through.
Allow to cool.
Add the ingredients for the sauce to a pot over medium heat on the stove. Stir, and heat only until the butter is melted.
Poke holes in the cake while still in the bundt pan, and pour the sauce over the cake and into the holes.
Cool the cake, and remove from the bundt pan to serve.
