Homemade Twix Cookies Recipe

This Homemade Twix Cookies Recipe is a delicious and easy to make treat that everyone will love. These delectable cookies are made with a buttery shortbread base and are loaded with creamy caramel and chocolate, making them the perfect combination of sweet and salty.

Ingredients
  

For the chocolate ganache:

  • ¼ C. Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 C. Chocolate chips

For the cookies:

  • 1 C. Granulated sugar
  • 1 C. Butter softened
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 Large egg
  • ½ tsp. Baking soda
  • ½ C. Cream cheese softened
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • 2 ½ C. Flour

For the caramel:

  • 2 Tbsp. Heavy whipping cream
  • 40 Caramels unwrapped

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Blend together the cream cheese, sugar and butter for the cookies until smooth.
  • Add in the egg.
  • Mix in the remaining cookie ingredients until well combined.
  • Roll the dough into 1 - 1 ½ inch balls of dough, and flatten slightly with the palm of your hands, creating a slight indentation in the center of each cookie. Place the cookies on the baking sheet, being careful to leave some space for them to expand.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Add 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream and the caramels to a bowl that is microwave safe. Heat for 30 seconds at a time until completely melted and smooth.
  • Add a spoonful of caramel to the center of each cookie. Add the cookie tray to the fridge to chill.
  • Add the ¼ cup of heavy whipping cream and chocolate chips to a bowl that is microwave safe.
  • Heat for 30 seconds at a time until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  • Add a spoonful of chocolate to the top of each cookie.
  • Chill until the chocolate has set and then serve.
