Baked Chicken Fried Steak with Mushroom Gravy

This recipe is a favorite of the whole family, and with good reason! The children love it and it becomes a very fun breakfast.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Oil For Frying
  • 1 cup Flour
  • Salt And Pepper To Taste
  • 6 Cube Steaks
  • 1 can Cream Of Mushroom Soup
  • ½ Onion Sliced
  • 1 Can Water
  • 8 Oz. Mushrooms In A Can Drained and Sliced

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Add the oil to a skillet over medium high heat.
  • Coat the outside of the steaks in flour, and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Sear the outside of the steaks in the hot oil and set aside.
  • Place three steaks into the bottom of a baking dish and cover with ½ of the onions.
  • Add another layer of steaks and the remaining onions on top.
  • In a bowl, mix together the water, soup and mushrooms. Pour the soup mixture over the steaks.
  • Bake for 30 minutes and let cool for 15 minutes to thicken the gravy before serving.
