There is no better combination than apple and spicy flavor. Especially when you add a touch of cinnamon, you can enhance your dishes with this recipe for Apple Spice Cake.
This Apple Spice Cake recipe is easy to make, it won’t take long, and everyone will love it. So take note so you don’t miss out on anything.
Ingredients:
1 cup 2 tbsp unsalted butter (Divided and softened)
2 Large granny smith apples, (Peeled and chopped)
¾ cup plus 2 tbsp light brown sugar (Packed)
2 tsp apple pie spice (Divided)
½ cup Sugar
2 Large Eggs
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
2 cup Flour
1 tbsp Baking powder
1 tsp Kosher salt
1 cup Buttermilk
Directions:
Step 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9×13 baking dish with pam baking spray, set aside.
Step 2. Using a medium skillet, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat.
Step 3. Add the chopped apples, 2 tbsp of brown sugar and 1 tsp of apple pie spice.
Step 4. Cook, while mixing occasionally, until the apples start to soften and the sugar mixture is thick.
Step 5. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
Step 6. Using a large bowl, beat together 1 C of butter, ¾ C brown sugar, and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 7. Beat in eggs, one at a time until combined.
Step 8. Using a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, 1 tsp apple pie spice, and salt.
Step 9. Gradually beat in ⅓ of the flour mixture into the wet ingredients. Gradually beat in half of the buttermilk until combined.
Step 10. Beat in another ⅓ of the flour mixture.
Step 11. Beat in remaining buttermilk and end with mixing the remaining flour mixture into the batter.
Step 12. Gently fold in the apples. Pour batter into the baking dish.
Step 13. Bake in the oven for 35-45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely. Apple Spice Brown Sugar Cream Cheese Frosting:
Ingredients:
1 – 8oz cream cheese frosting
¼ cup Unsalted butter (Softened)
1 cup Light brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 ½ tsp Apple pie spice
Directions:
Step 1. Using a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and apple pie spice until combined and smooth.
Step 2. Spread evenly onto the top of the cake and avoid eating the rest of the frosting with a spoon. It’s that good!
